9/11 Fifth Anniversary Memorial Field
Inwood Hill Park, Manhattan, NYC
Over the course of 4 days, a 9/11 Fifth Anniversary Memorial Event took place at Manhattan’s Inwood Hill Park. 3,000 Flags of Honor were displayed in commemoration of the nearly 3,000 lives lost during the attacks on 9/11. In addition, displays were conducted by the FDNY, NYPD, PAPD, EMS, and US Armed forces, and evening musical performances took place each night of the event.
September 7th: Memorial Field Preparations
September 8th: Site open to public; Dedicate Field; 3,000 Flags; 9/11 Artwork; Tribute From America; World Memorial
September 9th: Displays-FDNY, NYPD, PAPD, EMS, US Armed forces; FDNY Fireboat Display; Evening Music
September 10th: Event Ceremony; Evening Music
September 11th: Moments of silence; Taps; School visits
September 12th: Site closes to public
