Flag of Honor – ATF_KU_S6 NCOIC Camp Buehring, KU
Dear Mr. Howe, members of Post 1822, and family members,
I can’t begin to thank you for the generous “Care Package” I received from you folks today. I truly appreciate the thoughtfulness and obvious devotion you all have to our country and to me and my fellow service members! I have hung the Flag of Honor in our Battalion conference room. Pictured with me is SSG Patrick Kennedy, a resident of Plymouth.
A little back ground on me and my unit:
I am a 20 year member of the Massachusetts National Guard and this is my second deployment. The first was 15 years ago to Desert Storm, as an MP with the 772nd MP Co. Currently; I am assigned to the 3-126th Aviation, from Otis ANGB on the Cape. We are assigned in Kuwait and support the theatre as an Aviation Task Force Head Quarters, with Navy units and fixed wing aircraft added to us. We have been here since NOV 05 and will be in country till next fall.
As for the contents of the package you have done a great job of selecting items that the average soldier can use, especially if the do not have access to a PX like some of the FOBs in Iraq. I would not change any thing right now. I will give you an update in the future after I worked my way through the package with my buddies 😉
Thank you very much again!
Warmest Regards,
Gary Mauk
