Château de Tronjoly – Town of Gourin, France

Throughout the summer 2008 the town of Gourin presents “Bretagne TransAmerica” an exhibition about the immigration to USA and Canada from Brittany – France.

The Flag of Honor was donated to the Mayor of Gourin. It is being displayed every year at the 9/11/2001 Memorial. Some inhabitants of this small french town lost relatives during these tragic events.

The small town of Gourin is well known for being the origin of many immigrants to USA and Canada during the first part of the 20th century. It has a large copy of the Statue of Liberty standing in the main square opposite the town hall alongside the monument to the fallen soldiers of the 20th century who came from this region.
