Flag of Heroes – Northern Afghanistan

John,

Here you go. This picture was taken on 20 May in front of the flagpole at our compound here in Northern Afghanistan, just outside of the city of Mazar-e-Sharif. I’m fifth from the right standing holding one corner of the flag. This group is a mix of military and civilians. The one lady in the picture, Rita, was the one who had the flag of honor and wanted everyone in a picture holding it. I got your website from her. I thought it was a great idea and a great project, so I ordered one for me and one for my interpreter, Zack, who by the way has lived and worked in New York City for the past 25 years and is working for a year over here as an interpreter to support the war effort. So anyway thanks again and I’m looking forward to getting my own flag! Take care.
